Ålesund is a beautiful fishery town on the western coast of Norway. It is famous for its architecture, the Art Nouveau, after a terrible fire burned down most of the town.

It is built on several islands surrounded by the sea, with several tourist sites nearby.

Take a walk up to the hilltop Fjellstua to enjoy the magnificent views of the city – don’t miss the sunset and the fjords!

Other attractions include the Atlantic Sea Park, a gigantic seawater aquarium.

Take a cruise to the world famous Geiranger fjord, a short day trip away.
